Solid product and solutions knowledge is a crucial part of being a collaborative sales professional. It's important to take the time early to get up to speed on offerings a rep may not be familiar with. At the same time, the rep will need to balance training time with the productive prospecting and sales activities needed to build and maintain a pipeline.
It's recommended that a rep new to our product lines spend about 30 to 60 minutes each day on self-paced training for the first two to four weeks. After that 30 to 60 minutes per week in ongoing training activities will help the rep to stay current with changing technology.
